About the Company

Established in 1983, Vaughan is one of world’s most renowned designers and manufacturers of decorative lighting, furniture, and textiles. Founders, artist-designer couple Lucy and Michael Vaughan, opened their first shop in London to meet the demand for fine decorative lighting from the international design community. Vaughan’s vision and artist-led philosophy have provided direction and guidance to the in-house design studio, where every product is designed exclusively.

Using traditional and authentic manufacturing methods, products are made, assembled, or finished in Britain. The finest materials, such as solid cast brass, give Vaughan lighting and furnishings a rare depth and richness of finish. Vaughan employs an outstanding team of engineers, craftspeople, and skilled workers who ensure exemplary standards of production, while also calling upon some of the best independent craft experts, from blacksmiths to makers of handblown glass and lost wax casting.

As a business Vaughan aims to be sustainable, to drive positive labor practices, and to philanthropically support its communities. The company believes the impact it has on its employees, customers and communities extends well beyond the walls of its showrooms and factory. Over the years, Vaughan has supported causes and initiatives locally and around the world including the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and Watts of Love to name a few.

Taking steps to minimize the carbon footprint of the business Vaughan sources products responsibly. By working closely with suppliers to ensure high standards, the goal to reduce, re-use, and recycle to minimize impact on the environment is an inherent success. 90% of the collection is made from recyclable materials such as solid brass, glass, and ceramics and designed to last for generations.

Today, Vaughan’s designs grace the world’s finest hotels, restaurants, and residences. Vaughan can be found in showrooms around the world with flagships at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour London, and New York Design Center, in Manhattan.
