About the Company
Founded over 30 years ago, Woodworks is the specialist arm of the Ted Todd Group, devoted to reclaimed, antique, and custom-crafted wood floors. Where Ted Todd is known for precision-engineered new timber, Woodworks carries forward the romance of centuries-old boards, rare hardwoods, and one-of-a-kind designs. Between them, the group has become Britain’s leading independent wood flooring company, with an unrivalled stock of reclaimed timber and a reputation for pioneering sustainable practice—they were the first in the UK to achieve FSC® certification in 1997.
Woodworks was created to handle the most complex, bespoke commissions. Its 60,000 sq ft workshop in Cheshire is home to master craftspeople skilled in hand-finishing, marquetry, parquetry, and restoration. Many of the floors begin with timber rescued from Victorian warehouses, country houses, or historic docklands. Each board is treated as an artefact, meticulously restored to reveal its patina and individuality, before being crafted into flooring fit for contemporary use. This approach ensures no two projects are ever alike.
The company’s projects range from world landmarks to highly private residences. Their floors can be found in the Shakespeare North Playhouse, where a pale oak was used to recreate the light and organic feel of a Jacobean interior; in Corinthia London, with its rich espresso-toned parquet de Versailles; and aboard the Alicia, a 1930s yacht refitted with rare Burmese teak and ancient English yew.
Internationally, Woodworks has collaborated with Heatherwick Studio on Eden Residence in Singapore.

Their archive includes over 500 flooring designs, yet every project is customisable, with designers and clients working closely alongside the company’s consultants.
